Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua was pleased to receive His Excellency Mr. Liu Weimin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, during a courtesy call yesterday.
China assists Tonga across a range of development priorities, including grass roots projects, renewable energy initiatives that strengthen Tonga’s energy security and enhance its resilience to climate change and natural disaster impacts. The exchange also acknowledged the leadership role Tonga plays in the region. Both governments continue to engage and cooperate on mutual long-term development objectives.
