“Agreement signed in Tokyo to facilitate agreed recovery projects”

A Programme Agreement to facilitate the funding of agreed recovery projects as a result of the HTHH volcanic eruption and ensuing tsunami last year, was signed by the Government of Tonga and the Nippon Foundation in Tokyo, Japan on August 24, 2023.
The agreement, signed by His Excellency, Tevita Suka Mangisi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Government of Tonga to Japan and Mr. Takeju Ogata, President of the Nippon Foundation, is for constructions of three community halls and donation of eighteen small and twelve medium scale boats with outboard motors.
