Australia Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP) delegation visits Hon Prime Minister

Nuku’alofa- The Honourable Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku received a courtesy visit from the AIFFP delegation this morning.
The AIFFP delegation is on a seven day visit to the Kingdom.
They are led by Mr. Rob Jauncey, joined by Mr. Jonathan Pryke, Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lead Economist; Ms Stephanie Golda, Investment Officer, AIFFP and Mr. Wesley James, adviser on Strategic Infrastructure in the Office of the Pacific, DFAT in Canberra.
They discussed Australian Government infrastructure financing for Tonga through AIFFP and the broader state of the Tongan economy, Tonga’s debt obligations and Australia’s ongoing budget support.
They also continued discussions on a range of projects, including the new Parliament House reconstruction, the Queen Salote Wharf and ICT cable redundancy.
