Nuku’alofa, 1 March, 2024:-The Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Hu’akavameiliku, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency, David Adeang, President of the Republic of Nauru on March 1, 2024.
The two leaders discussed collaboration on mutual interests in deep sea mining. This is timely opportunity for a closer bilateral relationship with the Republic of Nauru in Tonga’s collective effort to ensure our Pacific region is safe, resilient and prosperous.
They also discussed pending assumption of the PIF chair and the transition of the Forum secretary general from Henry Puna to Baron Waqa.
Hon. Hu’akavameiliku hosted President Adeang and his delegation to a dinner reception on the same evening.
