“Hon. Dr Viliami Latu, Minister for Trade and Economic Development meets with the UN Capital Development Fund”

Tuesday 28 May 2024, Antigua and Barbuda:-The Hon. Dr Viliami Latu met with Mr.Pradeep Kurukulasuriya, Executive Secretary, United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), during the SID4 meeting at Antigua and Barbuda.
Hon Dr. Latu acknowledged the UNCDF’s existing support to Tonga and requested an opportunity to scale up their contribution, particularly on the disaster risk financing instruments and also potential support to the private sector and Small and Medium Enterprise.
The UNCDF has provided support to the National Reserve Bank of Tonga and the Tonga Development Bank of Tonga and will continue to dialogue with the officials on further development assistance.
