Human remains found at Vaipua, Vava’u

Police officers in Vava’u at around midday on Tuesday, 11 October 2022 responded to a report from Vaipua Bridge where police investigators discovered a corpse that was floating along at Vaipua harbour which appeared to have been drifted from the ocean side of Taoa village in Vava’u.
Deputy Commissioner Operations Command, Tevita Vailea confirms the deceased to be male and police investigation is underway to confirm identification with a formal inquest to follow upon completion of police investigation.
