“Laptops donated to the Government of Tonga from the Dongguan Municipal Government”

A hundred laptops, 100 sets of laptop bags, mouse sets, and operating systems each, were handed over to the Government of Tonga this morning by the Dongguan Municipal Government.
A visiting delegation from the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Guangdong Committee(CPPCC), led by Mr. Yuan Baocheng, Vice-chairman of CPPCC, also signed the Handover and Acceptance Certificate, with the Hon Hu’akavameiliku.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Hu’akavameiliku expressed the Tonga Government’s appreciation to Dongguan City for the substantial contributions of laptops to enhance the digitalization of Education.
“The continued assistance highlights the opportunity for e-learning with remote outer islands in Tonga and advances our partnership in transitioning education from traditional to modern levels.”
He mentioned that these laptops will facilitate future developments of the educational programme between the Ministry of Education and Tonga National University(TNU) in finalising a concept design for the University Campus.
