On the margins of the Pacific Islands Forum Troika Meeting, The Prime Minister, Lord Fakafanua, held discussions with Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Penny Wong, focusing on shared priorities and cooperation in advancing a resilient and prosperous Blue Pacific.

The Honourable Prime Minister, also held a bilateral meeting with Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Honourable Chris Bowen MP, for the signing of the Tonga–Australia Renewable Energy and Climate Partnership Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership supports Tonga’s national energy roadmap and its goal of achieving 100 per cent renewable energy, while strengthening targeted assistance and cooperation across priority areas of energy transition and climate resilience.
