Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua was pleased to receive the Ambassador of Japan, His Excellency Mr. Inagaki Hisao, who paid a courtesy visit today. Tonga and Japan share a longstanding and valued partnership, marked by cooperation in areas including development assistance, infrastructure, disaster resilience, and capacity building through initiatives such as JICA support. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations underpinned by the close relationship between the Japanese Imperial Family and Tonga’s Royal Household. His Excellency and the Prime Minister further shared their commitment to continued collaboration for the benefit of the people of Tonga.
