On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, H.E. Mr. Liu Weimin, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tonga, signed a handover certificate with Mr. Paula Pouvalu Ma’u, the Chief Secretary and Secretary to Cabinet, during a ceremony held at the St. George Government Building.
The handover included in-kind donations of laptops, printers, fans, and digital cameras from the People’s Republic of China to Tonga.
This initiative aims to strengthen the friendship between the Chinese and Tongan peoples and facilitate digital transformation in the country.
The Chief Secretary Mr. Paula Ma’u expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Government of Tonga for this generous donation, which supports the government in its service to the people and communities. He noted that both countries have developed a deeper relationship, characterized by cooperation and friendship based on mutual respect and reciprocity.
