Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canterbury, Professor Cheryl de la Rey, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Canterbury, Professor Cheryl de la Rey, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua this morning, accompanied by Professor Steven Ratuva, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Pacific), and colleagues. The Prime Minister thanked the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and her delegation for visiting Tonga and agreeing to develop further cooperation on areas of mutual interest. He stressed the importance of preparing the youth in line with government’s development priorities for tomorrows workplace and future industries.
Professor de la Rey and her delegation are currently visiting Tonga to launch a local alumni association and engage with local partners, including the Tonga National Reserve Bank of Tonga, Tonga National University and its students, as part of ongoing academic and institutional collaboration.
